CH TXELFKATZ SIMLPY SINFUR of Distinct
"Simon"
7/17/2017
TICA registered, chocolate Devon Rex. As out of place as it may appear to see a photo of a furry cat here, Simon is the foundation of a wonderful mission to improve and preserve the sphynx breed. To improve genetic diversity it is necessary for a young breed such as the Sphynx to incorporate outcrossing into its breed foundations. There are 3 breeds of cat that are considered permissible outcrosses within TICA for the sphynx- the Devon Rex, American Short Hair, and Domestic Short Hair. In 2017, after many years learning to exhibit and evaluate Sphynx to become intimately familiar with the balance of structure, health and disposition, we welcomed Simon into our home from our wonderful friends at TxElfkatz with the long term goal to eventually allow him to participate in our breeding program as an outcross. He was an absolutely perfect addition for a sphynx program with a disposition that compliments the Sphynx breed and structural conformation that is less extreme than that of the Devon Rx. After the worldwide struggles of 2020, we are excited to see what this handsome man finally brings to the table in 2021 and beyond.
